Directors Meeting Minutes

September 20, 2022

In attendance:  President Ross Holloway, Vice President Larry Long, Secretary Ron Wright, Treasurer Tim Standeford, and General Manager Herb Cook.

The meeting was called to order at 7:56 AM by Ross Holloway.  The minutes of the Directors meeting held on August 16, 2022 were presented for review/approval.  Tim Standeford moved the minutes be approved as presented.  The motion was seconded by Larry Long and carried unanimously.  Herb Cook gave the Treasurer’s Report.  Larry Long made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report.  Tim Standeford seconded the motion and was carried unanimously.  Herb Cook gave the Operation’s and Manager’s Report.  Larry Long made a motion to approve the Operation’s and Manager’s Report.  Ron Wright seconded the motion and was carried unanimously. 

Old Business

  1. New Water Treatment Plant:  Herb reported that he met with Kent Elliot with Banning Engineering on September 13, 2022 and received a set of plans for the new water treatment plant.  The plans are approximately 60% complete.  Herb and Kent reviewed the plans, made some revisions and the Board can review for suggestions as well. 
  2. Wyttenbach:  There was not any updates on the case at the time of the meeting.
  3. Echo Lake Phase II:  At the August 16, 2022 meeting the Board decided to wait on the next section of the Echo Lake Rehab project.  At this meeting the Board discussed unaccounted for water and about the number of leaks still be repaired in Echo Lake.  Ron Wright made a motion to have Herb get quotes for what the next section of Echo Lake will cost to do rehabilitate.  Larry Long seconded the motion and was carried unanimously.
  4. Western Road Loop:  Herb reported to the Board that the project was sent to 3 different contractors for quotes.  At the time of the meeting none of the contractors have sent back numbers.

New Business

  1. Employees:  With Evan Kerkhof’s last day being September 6, 2022, Herb reported he has posted an ad on Hill Water’s website as well as the Alliance webpage looking for field workers.  Herb also reported that with the termination of Kay Snyder on August 23, 2022, a new employee will be starting on October 10, 2022.
  2. Neitzel Rd Main Extension:  A resident on Neitzel Rd has been in contact with Herb about having a water main extension installed to service their home.  With Hill Water looking to run a main up Neitzel Rd anyways, Larry Long made a motion to have Herb negotiate a price with the resident for the main extension.  Ron Wright seconded the motion and was carried unanimously.

Other Business

  1. October Board Meeting:  Due to Board members not being able to make the meeting on October 18, 2022, Ron Wright made a motion to hold the monthly Board meeting on October 25, 2022.  Tim Standeford seconded the motion and was approved unanimously.

Construction

  1. Echo Lake Rehab:  Herb reported to the Board that the Echo Lake Rehab project is now complete.  The landscaping crews have also finished restoring all the lots that work was done on as well.  The entire project came in at $186,048.52.

With no other business to discuss, Tim Standeford moved for adjournment.  The motion received a second from Larry Long and carried, unanimously.  The next monthly Directors meeting will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 8:00 AM.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:52 AM.
